“An Austrian study from the University of Graz has announced how vegetarian individuals show a greater development of physical and mental pathologies and a worse quality of life”
Carnivores live on average healthier than vegetarians. This is revealed by a research by the Austrian Medical University of Graz, which emphasizes that the low consumption of saturated fats, vegetables, fruits and cholesterol can be correlated to a higher incidence of tumors, the development of allergies and mental illness. The study is based on a series of data collected by the Australian Health Interview Survey on a sample of 1,320 subjects, including 330 vegetarians, carnivores but consumers of significant quantities of fruit and vegetables, 330 subjects that consumed little meat and 330 “avid carnivores”.
The numbers showed how, despite the vegetarians were, on average, less likely to drink alcohol and with a lower body mass index live worse physical and mental conditions than those who consume meat. It should be added, however, that the vegetarians of the sample show unhealthy habits not to go to the doctor in case of physical problems. At the edge of the study, and in response to allegations of support to the meat industry, experts have pointed out how the data are to be investigated, given the lack of a link between cause and effect. In any case, vegetarians showed a greater propensity to develop asthma, various types of tumors and psychiatric illnesses.
